How we verify every fact

Anyone can put a number on the internet. We show you where ours come from, who checked them, and when. This page is the whole method, receipt by receipt.

Who does the checking

Today, the two founders do. Daniel built the checking system and runs it. His wife reads every family-facing page and rechecks the program facts with him. Both of us live inside these programs as parents, which is why we started keeping receipts in the first place.

Before launch, an independent subject-matter reviewer joins to check the high-stakes pages: money, deadlines, and rights. That person's name and credentials will be printed here, on this page, the day they start. We will not name anyone before it is real.

The schedule

Every fact gets rechecked against its primary source at least once a quarter. Facts about money and deadlines get extra checks around the dates that matter, like scholarship application windows and the start of the school year.

When a fact passes its recheck, the verified-on date printed next to it updates. When it fails, we change the page before the date moves. The footer of every page also carries a site-wide "last reviewed" stamp, so you can see the whole site's pulse at a glance.

What counts as a primary source

Official handbooks, award tables, and guides published by the program itself.
State statutes, agency rules, and public agency records.
Written answers from a program office. We keep the correspondence on file.
For facts nobody publishes, like real evaluation wait times, we collect the quotes ourselves and label them "founder-collected" so you know exactly what they are.
Community reports are labeled "community-reported" and are never dressed up as official.

Most families receive about $10,000 a year. Awards range from about $9,700 to about $36,200 depending on your child's Matrix of Services level and county.

Sometimes we cannot confirm a claim against a primary source yet. When that happens we do not hide the claim and we do not guess. It ships with an amber caution band, like this real one:

Does this guide transfer to Georgia?

Georgia's scholarship and waiver programs appear to be structured much like Florida's, so parts of this guide may transfer. We have not yet checked this against Georgia's official handbooks.

An amber band means: treat it as a lead, not an answer. Check the official source before acting on it, and we will do the same before the band comes off.

When we get something wrong

We will get something wrong eventually. Programs change mid-year, and a wrong fact on a site like this costs families real time and real money. So the correction policy is simple:

You tell us through the report-an-error form.
We recheck the claim against its primary source.
If you are right, we fix the page as soon as we confirm it, usually the same day, update the verified-on date, and note the correction on the page.
If we cannot confirm it either way, the fact gets the amber UNVERIFIED band until we can.
If you left an email, we tell you what we found.
